Sometimes it is seen that when you access some websites, other unwanted websites try to open. Sometimes you need to block some websites from children/others on your computer. Or you want to block unwanted websites. So you find some software that can block unwanted websites. But I am telling you that you need not any software for this. You can do this manually in your computer. Follow the steps below.

• Find the hosts file. It usually located in
• For Windows 7 : C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
• For Windows XP Pro : C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts  or  C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
• Open hosts file with notepad and at the end of the file type the link below :

127.0.0.2 www.link-assistant.com 

• Now www.link-assistant.com no longer be access.
• For every sites that you want to block, just add '1' to the last number of the internal IP address (127.0.0.3) then a space and then type the website that you want to block.

For example:

127.0.0.3 www.example.com 127.0.0.4 www.blocksite.com
NOTE : Make sure there is no space at the beginning of each line. If you are unable to save then check User Account Control (from security) from control panel. And set it off.

NOTE : If you hide your IP address and use fake IP then this tricks does not work. You can open all blocked websites.

Test the working of your pc Antivirus

Most of the people think about the best antivirus for their computer. Sometimes the antivirus might not be work properly. So you want to test the working of your pc antivirus but the question is how to check whether it is working correctly or not.
Today I am going to tell you how you check the working of your pc antivirus. European Institute of Computer Antivirus Research (EICAR) uses the following steps to test any antivirus.

• At first open a notepad, copy the following code and paste it into the notepad and save it.

• Rename the file from New Text Document.TXT to testfile.com
• Now scan this testfile.com file.

If your antivirus gives a warning or alert then it is working correctly and deletes the file immediately. If no such warning or alert is shown then either re-install your antivirus or use another one. An important thing is that most of the antivirus will display a warning in first step and will remove the file.

Use of Wifi or Lan for sharing internet

You can easily share your internet connection with WiFi or LAN. If you have Laptop(with wireless device) or external WiFi device then you can easily share internet connection to many PC within the WiFi range without  any extra cost. 

There are so many softwares like Virtual Access Point, Connectify which can help you to share your internet connection. Here I am telling you how you can use those software.

For Windows XP users 

You can use any one software (Virtual Access Point or Connectify). But for Connectify software you have to install Microsoft Dot Net Framework 3.5. So if you don't have dot net framework 3.5 you may use Virtual Access Point software.

• After installing the software run it and turn on wifi.
• Click on Share My Internet.
• Select the internet connection that you want to share, from Select button (of LAN / Wireless that you are using).

• Suppose you are using Aircel internet connection and want to share it. After doing the above steps, open properties of Aircel Internet. Click on Sharing button and "Allow other network user to connect through ........ connection". Click OK to save settings.(Show the last image of this post)
• Now click on Start Sharing button to share your internet with others.

Note: It set a default password for internet users. You can change this password.

For Windows 7 users 

Windows 7 user don't need to install Dot Net framework 3.5. Because it is already inbuild. So you can use Connectify software. To get this software click on : Download 

1. First install the software and run it.
2. Turn On WiFi.
3. Give your Hotspot Name and enter Password.
4. Select which internet connection that you want to share from Internet.
5. From Advance settings select connection type WiFi / LAN.
6. And at last select Security Mode as Ad-Hoc,WEP.

Now open Properties of your internet connection. Click on Sharing button and select "Allow other network user to connect through this computer's Internet connection". 

Now click Start Hotspot button to share your internet.
