Name of the Post: Assistant Professor

Age Limit: Candidates age limit should not more than 37 (thirty-seven) years as on 01.01.2014.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University for Assistant Professor (arts, Humanities, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Education, Languages, Law) for General Degree Colleges. For other qualifications refer notification. upper age concession upto 5 years are admissible only to S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal and upto 3 years to O.B.C. (category A or B) candidates of West Bengal. S.C., S.T. and B.C. candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. Such benefits are also available upto 47 years for Persons with Disabilities.

Selection process: Candidates will be selected based on their performance in interview.

Application Fee: Candidates should pay Rs.210/- only by Indian Postal Order and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. Candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. of West Bengal and Persons with Disabilities specified under Persons with Disabilities Rules, 1999 are not required to pay any fee.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates may send their applications in the prescribed format All requisite certificates regarding educational qualifications, proof of age, other relevant experience certificates and other requisite documents. Two self-addressed unstamped envelopes and one self-addressed post card should be enclosed with the application. Self Certified or attested by competent authority Madhyamik or equivalent certificate,S.C./S.T./O.B.C. (category A OR B)/ Persons with Disability certificate issued by competent authority, Registration certificate for citizenship (if by registration) as required under item 9(b) of the application, Mark-sheet and certificate for each examination passed, Experience certificate. Age Limit: Candidates age should not be more than 50 years for Post A, less than 40 years for Post B, less than 35 years for post C, D, less than 45 years for E, F, less than 35 years for Post G, less than 42 years for Post H, less than 32 years for Posts I, J and K as on 01-01-2013. Age relaxations are applicable as per the rules.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech in relevant branch with 1st class or equivalent either in B.E./B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech for Posts A to C, Master degree and Second class Honors degree in the relevant subject with minimum of 55% marks for Post D to H and Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering of a recognized University or its equivalent for Post I, Master’s Degree in Statistics or Economics or Mathematics with specialization in Statistics for Post J and Degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B. V. Sc. & A.H.) or Veterinary Science (B.V. Sc.) from a recognized University/ Institute for Post K.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on the performance in screening test/written test and interview.

Application Fee: Candidates has to pay the application fee of Rs.210/- (Rupees two hundred and ten) only by Postal Order and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt.
